Dance Education

Thinking of introducing arts programme in school? Planning to set up a dance club? If you are looking for qualified dance instructors and choreographers to teach in your school, we are able to provide you the right personnel! We have a team of experienced and dedicated teachers who are all professionally trained. They can provide their professional service in Chinese dance, modern dance and martial arts. We also provide choreography services for school dance club to prepare performances for the school's anniversary and festival celebration, and the Singapore Youth Dance Festival competition.

Arts Education Programme

The Arts Education Programme was developed by the National Arts Council to promote an appreciation of the arts among young Singaporeans. It aims to stimulate students' creativity and develop their interest in arts.

Endorsed by the National Arts Council, Dance Ensemble Singapore's Arts Education Programme aims to introduce Chinese Culture and performing arts more accessible and interesting to students by encouraging them to participate in the arts activities at a level they are comfortable with.

Dance Ensemble Singapore has participated in the Arts Education Programme since 1996. It introduces the students to Chinese dance and culture. Every year, DES will design new programme that is refreshing, creative and educational for students. In general, the programme is about 30 to 40 minutes and is presented in either English or Chinese for students of Primary and Secondary, Junior Colleges and Institutes of Technical Education. The programme begins with a dance performance followed by an explanation about the background and development of the art form and end with a talk-cum--deomstration session. To date, hundreds of school have responded positively to our programme.

Rental of Costumes and Props

Staging a performance in school? Having low budget and don't know where to get clean and beautiful costume? Dance Ensemble Singapore has a variety of dance costume and stage props that are available for rental at a reasonable rate. We will give advice on the suitability of the costume and props for your production.
