Sword Chess 《棋舞》

Led by Artistic Advisor, Mdm Yan Choong Lian, "Sword Chess" highlights a collaboration of artists from all over the world and merging into a common platform of Chinese Dance in an Asian Male perspective. We will feature the works of Mr Dong Xinyu (China). His works will combined the swift fluidity of the Martial Arts techniques set on the stage of a chess board. We have also specially invited Mr Lin Kun-Yang (Taiwan), world-renowned choreographer who is currently based in the United States. Mr Lin's work has been internationally acclaimed by many dance press in the world, citing that his works "is multi-faceted, and extraordinary impactful". Adding to this stellar cast is Mr Roh Hyun Sik (Korea), Artistic Director of Gumi City Dance Company from South Korea. An award winning choreographer, famous for his creative dance which infuses Korean Traditional dance with contemporary moves, will choreograph on DES Arts. Lastly, our very own local multi-talented Mr Jimmy Gueh Kai Jie (Singapore), choreographer of DES Arts will surprise us with his latest creation, "Black and White".

通过不同文化的表达手法与诠释,让韩国与新加坡舞蹈家之间的艺术灵感的交融,透过舞蹈多元化与艺术之间那无边界的氛围,启迪蕴蒇着内心不朽魅力的,浅显而又深刻的表演方式,敞开心怀,以自由的舞蹈表现手法,创塑出崭新的舞蹈风格,充满灵性的思绪,将现实中的人化身为一部部的画册,最终是快乐,痛苦,成功或失败,人生哲理,展现辽阔的视野,照出了人间千姿百态。
